SLINGER SIGNALLER
The Basic Slinging & Lifting Course is designed for the operator who requires skills training in slinging, lifting and controlling of loads being lifted by a crane or using manual lifting equipment such as chain blocks.
It is also applicable to those experienced operators who require refresher training.

There are no categories of slinging course but as well as covering the generic standards for lifting and slinging, the course can be tailored to cover the operator’s specific use of lifting equipment and their environment such as:
Using tower / mobile cranes, Using overhead cranes, Using chain blocks (Fleeting / Rigging)
COURSE CONTENT
Understand the risks involved in slinging and lifting loads
• Understand the legal requirements applicable to lifting operations
• Identify the basic construction, purpose and application of lifting accessories
• The forces imposed on lifting accessories during lifting (Angular stress)
• How to carry pre use inspection on lifting accessories
• Practical slinging and lifting of loads
• Controlling loads/ lifting equipment by correct signalling techniques.
• Place and retrieve loads accurately from various heights / lifting points.
Duration: 2 days with a maximum training ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor.
Venue: Can be carried out at our training centre in Eastleigh or at an employer’s premises.
Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.
Accreditation: NPORS or LETS certificate
Cost: Dependant on course duration and attendees.
