ABRASIVE WHEELS
The Abrasive Wheels Course is designed for the operator who requires theoretical and practical instruction at basic level, in the use of abrasive wheel machines in a construction / industrial environment.
It is also applicable to those experienced operators who require refresher training.
COURSE CONTENT
• Understand the hazards involved in using abrasive wheel machines and controlling the risks.
• Understand the legal requirements involved in abrasive wheel operations.
• Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls.
• Select appropriate PPE and wear correctly.
• How to carry out all pre-use and running checks.
• Prepare the machine and work area for operations.
• Use machine in accordance with manufactures instructions.
• Place the machine in a safe condition.
• Strip down and clean as necessary
• Remove/ Replace abrasive wheel as per manufactures instructions.
Duration: The duration of the course is 1 day dependent on experience and number of students, with a maximum training ratio of 6 students to 1 instructor. (See Training Info).
Venue: Can be carried out at our training school in Eastleigh or at an employer’s premises. (See training Info).
Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.
Accreditation: NPORS or LETS certificate
Cost: Dependant on course duration and attendees.
